On a gorgeous autumn day at El Caballero Country Club, Children’s Burn Foundation held its Annual Golf Tournament on October 21, 2024. The event, co-chaired by Council Board members Tracy Berliner Smith and Kathy Toppino, paid tribute to first responders and celebrated the remarkable Charlie Toppino for his steadfast commitment to our mission.
Attendees enjoyed a day of friendly competition, a delicious breakfast, and festive drinks. Board Member Fritz Coleman served as the highly entertaining MC of the reception, adding his signature charm to the day. A standout moment was burn survivor Wendy's heartfelt speech, where she shared her inspiring journey, leaving a profound impact on everyone present.
In interviews for social media, many players shared how they eagerly anticipate this event each year. Some of the first responders who participated spoke about how much the tournament means to them. Firefighters, who witness the devastation of burn injuries firsthand, and nurses, who provide healing care to burn patients, expressed that the work CBF does to prevent and heal truly resonates with them.
We are incredibly grateful to our financial and in-kind sponsors, enthusiastic players, and dedicated Council volunteers. Your generosity continues to make a difference in the lives of burn survivors and their families. We look forward to welcoming you back on the green next year!
